The Experience of the "InfinITy" City Centres for Digital Education

On March 24, within the framework of the XI St. Petersburg International Educational Forum, the conference "Development of Technical Orientation in the System of Supplementary Education: New Formats, New Content, New Opportunities" was held on the basis of school No. 630 of the Primorsky District.

The conference was attended by heads of departments of supplementary education for children, deputy heads of institutions for informatization, heads of centres for digital education for children, methodologists, teachers of the department of supplementary education of technical orientation, subject teachers of physics, chemistry, computer science and ICT, technology and other subjects.

During the conference, the experience of three "InfinITy" city centres for digital education of children was demonstrated: school No. 630 of the Primorsky district, St. Petersburg Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 30 and Gymnasium No. 116 of the Primorsky district.

The conference participants, heads and teachers of digital education centres had the possibility to learn more about the modern trends in the technical orientation of supplementary education, held workshops in robotics, 3D modeling and programming.

At the conference, the participants identified the global challenges of our time and showed and highlighted opportunities for digital literacy among learners at different levels of education. Teachers of the St. Petersburg Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 30 demonstrated the possibilities of the new direction "FIRST Tech Challenge".

The conference was held in the format of video recording. More than a hundred participants watched it on the day of the conference.
