St. Petersburg is Preparing for the XIII St. Petersburg International Educational Forum

As part of the preparation for the XIII St. Petersburg International Educational Forum (which will take place from 27 to 31 March 2023) St. Petersburg Education Committee has held a workshop on creating the Forum programme. Representatives of various St. Petersburg district education departments and methodological centres took part in the meeting, which was held at the Centre for Regional and International Cooperation.

This year the Forum events traditionally cover a wide variety of current issues in education. The participants will have the opportunity to take part in seminars, conferences, creative laboratories, strategic sessions, round table discussions and workshops.

The programme includes 12 thematic tracks which will allow the participants to look at the modern education system from all its sides.

The Information Technology track includes events dedicated to informatisation, digitalisation and IT in education. The Russian National Conference with International Participation "Information Technology for the New School" is the main event of the track.

The Research and Innovation track involves events on science and research, innovative and experimental work.

The Education Quality track will include discussions of the current issues in implementing the Federal State Education Standards, the learning process, improving education quality, as well as students' functional literacy and reading proficiency and best teaching practices for preschoolers. Science and practical conferences at the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education are the main events of this track.

The Lifelong Learning track involves events on further training and retraining. The participants will discuss the current teaching values and methodological support of teaching staff. Best teaching practices and the possibilities of the modern multi-level advanced training system for teachers will be presented at the events.

Vocational education in St. Petersburg and career guidance experience will be presented at the events within the Profession track. Educational institutions will present their experience in career guidance and career decision-making support. Best practices of teaching preschoolers and familiarising them with various professions will also be presented at the events.

At the events of the Mentorship track the participants will discuss students' socialisation and mentorship for students, and present best practices of designing professional mentorship systems. The participants will present their experience in implementing the target mentorship system in schools, creating conditions that promote psychological health for all participants of the learning process and including the family into the process of educating the younger generation.

The Personality Development track will include events during which educational institutions will present best practices in implementing personality development and patriotic education programmes, developing museum education as a means of career guidance for students and personality development through school theatres.

Events on education for students with special needs, inclusive education and adapted programmes will be held as part of the Inclusive Education track. The main goal of the events is considering the latest research and practices of ensuring the availability of education and quality life conditions for students with special needs in various organisational and teaching environments. There will also be presented the experience of special education of preschoolers with special educational needs, the creation of learning paths for students with special needs, effective inclusive education practices, various innovative developments.

The target audience of the IChildren track are school and preschool students as well as students receiving vocational qualifications. Team games, contests and presentations will be held for them, aimed at the development and dissemination of innovative teaching experience, the career guidance for high school students and the development of professional interaction and cooperation between everyone involved in the educational process.

Various educational institutions will present their experience of engaging parents into educational process at the IParents track. They will discuss the necessary tools and methods of interacting with parents, ways of involving parents in the implementation of educational initiatives.

The Learning Environment track will cover the issues related to the creation of the learning environment during the implementation of grant projects.

The Special Events track includes concerts, award ceremonies, thematic events.

Final programme will be published on the official website of St. Petersburg International Educational Forum in the beginning of March 2023. The registration for the Forum events will start at the same time.
