Regional coordinators of the IT-Cube centres got acquainted with the opportunities of educational institutions in St. Petersburg

From March 24 to 25, the All-Russian meeting of regional coordinators on creation and operation of the federal network of Centres for Digital Education of Children "IT-cube" was held on the basis of the Academy of Talents and the Academy of Digital Technologies of St. Petersburg. The event was held within the framework of the XI St. Petersburg International Educational Forum-2021. Representatives of the Russian education system were able to evaluate the technical capabilities and best educational practices of general and supplementary education in the Northern Capital.

On March 24, the meeting participants were welcomed by Sergey Kozhevnikov, director of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia at the Academy of Digital Technologies. Organizational, management and methodological aspects of the "IT-cube" centers creation were discussed at the first session. Representatives of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia reported about the practice of creating project infrastructure, the role of centres in achieving the indicators of the National Project "Education" and the digital transformation of education. As Sergey Kozhevnikov, director of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia noted in his speech, St. Petersburg is one of the most active participants of the National Project "Education".

The second session of the meeting was devoted to the development of digital competencies of children. Representatives of the regional centres of supplementary education presented the most effective practices for the future staff training . According to Mikhail Puchkov, Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Education Committee, the city plans to develop a network of digital education centres "InfinITy"and "IT-cube".

Dmitry Kovalev, Director of the Academy of Digital Technologies, presented the main features of the architectonics of the educational process. The Academy forms students' digital competencies – the institution has created ten clusters corresponding to the main branches of the digital economy. Thanks to early career guidance development, many students already have a high level of training. The director also spoke about the activity of the Academy as a Regional coordination center for several federal projects: WorldSkills Russia Junior, the Olympiad of the NTI Study Group Movement and "Ticket to the Future".

For two days, teachers of the Academy organized workshops for the participants of the meeting in various areas, including: mobile applications, robotics and programming, programming in C (C++, C#), project robotics, mechatronics, and robomathematics.

It should be noted, that a cooperation agreement was signed between the Academy of Digital Technologies, the Center for Digital Education of Children "IT-cube" and the Regional Educational Center for Gifted Children of the Udmurt Republic at the All-Russian meeting. The parties agreed on an open and mutually beneficial partnership: to exchange information and expertise, to advise and support each other's initiatives.

On March 25, the Academy of Talents and its structural division, the Media Arts Centre, introduced the regional coordinators of the IT-Cube Centers to the educational ecosystem of the institution and digital opportunities in project and research activities of students. Russian teachers attended workshops in graphic design, 3D modeling, DJing, and photography from the best teachers of the Academy of Talents. The participants of the meeting also discussed topical issues during a round table devoted to the work with gifted children, educational tourism and the integration of science and education. The professional discussion was organized by the Regional Center for the Identification and Support of Gifted Children of the Academy of Talents.

The meeting was attended by representatives of regional executive authorities that carry out state management in the field of education from 64 сonstituent entities of the Russian Federation of the Russian Federation, heads of educational institutions and institutions of supplementary education for children - the participants of the federal project "Digital Learning Environment" of the "Education" national project.

Participants discussed the system of organizational, informational, and methodological support of the federal network of IT-Cube Centres, the role of centres in the formation of digital literacy, and got acquainted with the best educational practices of educational institutions in St. Petersburg.
